Monday, December 2

Found Property—11 a.m.—College Park Drive and San Gabriel River—The caller found a loaded shotgun in a plastic bag in the construction area. Report taken.

Petty Theft Report—5:05 p.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller said the suspect put a $10 bar code on a $200 item on Nov. 29.

The caller said they had video of the suspect. Counseled.

Counseling—7:48 p.m.—Bayou Way—The caller said her neighbor came over to complain about her barking dog.

The caller accused the neighbor of threatening her.

Police unit 207 counseled both parties and suggested calling the police about a barking dog issue rather than going to a neighbor.

In Seal Beach, code enforcement is based on a complaint driven system.

The barking dog ordinance requires three independent complaints.

Tuesday, December 3

Suspicious—8:44 a.m.—Violet Street—The caller said an individual knocked on the caller’s door at 8 a.m.

The caller did not answer the door.

Petty Theft Report—3:57 p.m.—Fifth Street—Someone stole a decorative duck from the caller’s front yard.

Welfare Check—7:11 p.m.—Montecito Road—The caller saw a man in a parked car, either sleeping or unconscious.

The caller said the car had been there for the previous five hours but the caller had just noticed someone inside.

Police unit 206 determined the car’s occupant was an out of town visitor getting some rest.

Wednesday, December 4

Suspicious Person—7:30 p.m.—Ironwood Avenue—The caller said a man knocked on her door.

When she did not answer, he tried the door three times—even though her dogs were barking.

Thursday, December 5

Suspicious Occupied Vehicle—4:54 a.m.—Pacific Coast Highway and 10th Street—The caller saw a dark compact driving slowly down the street. The driver got out a few times with a flashlight and looked into parked cars.

Police unit 207 found a newspaper delivery man.

No further police services were necessary.

Trespassing—8:06 p.m.—12th Street—The caller said a man had entered the caller’s home.

The caller said he appeared to be under the influence of something, but the caller could not smell alcohol.

The caller confronted him and got him to leave.

Police unit 241 detained and arrested a man who was wanted on a no-bail parole violation warrant.

Open Door—12:20 a.m.—Weatherby Road.

Citizen Assist—6:50 a.m.—Montecito Road—The caller said his vehicle was towed and he thought the act was predatory.

Suspicious Person in Vehicle—11:13 p.m.—Weatherby Road and Rossmoor Way.

Tuesday, December 3

Open Door—12:48 a.m.—Yellowtail Drive.

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—11:38 a.m.—Loch Lomond Road—A UPS driver called police to report a woman who appeared to be casing the area.

The caller said the woman had been back to the front door of the location a couple of times.

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—5:14 p.m.—Gertrude Drive—The caller reported a man the caller had not seen before, standing in front of the location.

The man told the caller that he was waiting for his driver.

Suspicious Person in Vehicle—2:19 a.m.—Los Alamitos Boulevard—The caller said several individuals in a car kept driving by and laughing at the caller.

Petty Theft Report—7:23 a.m.—Yellowtail Drive.

Burglary Report—9:23 a.m.—Davenport Road.

Fraud Report—3:30 p.m.—Foster Road.

Illegal Parked Vehicle—5 p.m.—Brimhall Drive and Montecito Road— The caller reported a truck with an attached boat trailer.

Illegal Parked Vehicle—4:28 p.m.—Brimhall Drive—The caller said there was an on-going problem with a vehicle length violation—a truck with an attached boat trailer.
