Tuesday, January 7

Vehicle Burglary—4:49 p.m.—First Street—The crime apparently occurred between 7:45 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, and 4:45 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7. Suspect: unknown. Point of entry: pried lock. Loss: two pairs of coverall uniforms and binoculars.

Wednesday, January 8

Patrol Check—7:25 a.m.—Fifth Street and Ocean—The caller said a man was running on the beach with his dog. The dog was without a leash. The caller also said the dog relieved itself and the owner did not pick up after it.

Thursday, January 9

Counseling—9:28 a.m.—Dogwood Avenue—A citizen called the police about a tenant who was served with an eviction notice the previous week. The tenant was supposed to have left by now, but hadn’t. The caller said marijuana and a bong could be seen through the window. Counseled.

Friday, January 10

Coyote—4:59 a.m.—Crest and Crestview—The caller said the coyote had been seen for the past two nights at about 7 p.m. Message delivered to Long Beach Animal Care Services.

Saturday, January 11

Burglary Report—1:18 a.m.—Coastline Drive—The caller came home to find the residence had been burglarized. Exact loss was unknown, though the initial estimated value of the lost property was put at $2,500. The crime apparently occurred between 11:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 10, and the time of the call. Report taken.

IN LEISURE WORLD

Tuesday, January 7

Possible Scam—1:35 p.m.—Sea View Lane—A Leisure World resident had a call back number for a possible scam. She was  supposed to call back in 30 minutes. The suspect, a man, claimed to work for Publisher’s Clearinghouse. No loss at this time. Police advised the woman not to provide the suspect with any information. Matter solved.

Friday, December 20

Disturbed Subject—8:08 p.m.— Oak Street—The caller reported neighbor pounding on door, and that it was an on-going issue. Subject was white male, 50 to 60 years old wearing a multicolored shirt and black pants. Subject has mental issues. Patrol counseled.

Sunday, December 22

Battery—3:38 p.m.—Katella Avenue—The caller reported two men fighting him. The caller was hit on the head and requested medics. The caller said he was cold-cocked by the suspects, and had a hard time thinking.  He also said one suspect knocked down his wife. No report desired.

Medical Aid—8:26 p.m.—Reagan Street—The caller reported his 80-year-old wife had passed out and was not responding. Fire department was in route. His wife had shallow breathing. She regained consciousness and was breathing. She was transported to a hospital.

Tuesday, December 24

Stabbing—1:28 a.m.—Farquhar and Noel—The caller reported being stabbed in the torso with a small pocketknife. The suspect was described as a white man, 20 years old, and was seen running westbound down Farquhar. The victim was transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital. The suspect was arrested.

Wednesday, December 25

Animal Bite—3:02 p.m.—Thor Avenue—The caller reported neighbor’s chow dog bit his father. Dog was running loose and bit victim while he was trying to contain it. Owners not home. Long Beach Animal Control in route. LBAC took report of dog bite and left notice for owners. Dog was secured in backyard.

Thursday, December 26

Welfare Check—4:30 p.m.—Katella and Civic Center—The caller reported a white male, 65 years old, gray hair, sitting on ground up against a wall. Subject’s vehicle broke down, and his son is in route. Patrol checks out okay.

Friday, December 27

Overdose—4:09 p.m.—Farquhar Avenue—The caller reported his 56 year old mother passed out on bathroom floor, vomiting now. Subject takes several prescriptions and has possibly overdosed. The caller states his mother has accidently done this before. Fire department is in route. Patrol assisted.

Monday, January 6

Grand Theft Report—12:58 p.m.—Kempton Drive.

Suspicious Person in Vehicle—7:31 p.m.—Yellowtail Drive—A deputy performed a patrol check for a man sitting in a car for the past 10 minutes. The caller thought it was suspicious because the care was blacked out and because the man did not look like he belonged in the area. No further description.

Tuesday, January 7

Suspicious Person in Vehicle—12:58 a.m.—Blume Drive—A deputy performed a patrol check for a vehicle with loud music that had been revving its engine for the past hour.

Wednesday, January 8

Stolen Vehicle—3:42 p.m.—Donnie Ann Road—The caller said the car was parked near the residence around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, and was gone when the owners went out today.

Grand Theft Report—12:03 p.m.—Blume Drive.

Suspicious Person in Vehicle—8:14 a.m.—Walker Lee Drive—The caller reported a man in a car who had not left the vehicle in 20 minutes, which the caller found suspicious.

Thursday, January 9

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—10:06 a.m.—Donnie Ann Road—The caller reported two white panel vans unknown to the area that were parked in front of the location.

Disturbance—10:16 a.m.—Loch Lomond Road—The caller said a neighbor had been yelling and screaming obscenities at the caller all day long.

Friday, January 10

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—6:50 a.m.—Ruth Elaine Drive—A citizen spoke with a man who the citizen believed was acting suspiciously. The man said he was looking for his car. A deputy performed a patrol check for the man.

Saturday, January 11

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—12:25 a.m.—Weatherby Road.

Sunday, January 12

Identity Theft—4:57 p.m.—Kempton Drive.
