The City Council dealt with two controversial issues this week—the “Little Blue Cottage” on the Greenbelt and the Bay City Partners/DWP housing development on First Street.
City Attorney Craig Steele said that because of multiple threats of litigation over the placement of the cottage, the council had directed staff to move the vintage beach house next to the Red Car Museum. The Historical Society’s lease for the Red Car Museum was recently reduced to only the land underneath the Red Car, which will allow the city to move the cottage.
The 115-year-old cottage was placed on the Heritage Square area of the Greenbelt, next to the Mary Wilson Library in July.
