The City Council formally approved City Manager Jill Ingram’s contract on Monday, June 13. Her base salary will be $190,000. She will serve a three-year term.
She will get a monthly car allowance of $500, plus a $100 a month allowance for mobile phone charges related to her job.
Ingram’s predecessor, David Carmany, was criticized for his salary and benefits during his tenure. As of August 2010, Carmany was receiving $217,000 a year.
“Ms. Ingram has agreed to accept: reductions to certain benefits received by her predecessor (e.g., base salary, administrative leave and cell phone allowance); six month severance pay instead of 12 months and a reduction in the city’s contribution to the employee’s share of the (California Public Employees Retirement System) retirement fund contribution, an amount to be determined by the council,” wrote City Attorney Quinn Barrow in a staff report to the council.
