Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the 29th Annual Seal Beach Classic Car Show to be held Saturday, April 30, in the Main Street area of Old Town.

Spectators will be able to attend the show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Opening ceremonies will be held at the Seal Beach Pier. Last year’s event drew an estimated 20,000 individuals to Seal Beach. According to Scott Levitt, event chair, organizers expect about the same attendence.

The Car Show will feature displays of vintage cars in 29 categories, with the winner in each receiving a custom trophy.

According to Levitt, “We have between 560-600 cars.  No more spaces available. Day of show, cars not registered can arrive early near Javatini and hope for a space if a registered car does not show by 7:30 a.m.  We usually have 10 open spaces, but about 40 cars waiting for those spaces.”

Spaces are still available for vendors to sell their wares in Eisenhower Park. According to Levitt, spaces are 10 feet by 10 feet and cost $200.

According to Levitt, the Car Show will also include live bands playing at four different locations, the return of the Boy Scouts’ Pinewood Derby event and “Raffle tickets for sale for dozens of car-themed prizes and gift cards to local restaurants and stores.”

According to a statement issued by the Seal Beach Police Department:

“Main Street will be closed between Pacific Coast Highway and Ocean Avenue, Ocean Avenue between 10th and Eighth streets, Central Avenue between 10th and Eighth streets and Electric Avenue between 10th and Eighth streets.

“On the day of the show, Saturday, April 30, the streets will close at 5 a.m.  The cars will enter the show via Ocean Avenue, Central Avenue and Electric Avenue starting at 6 a.m.  At 4 p.m., the show is over and the streets will reopen.

“Parking for the general public will be on the grounds of the Seal Beach Naval Weapons station.  Entry to the Naval Weapons Station parking area is on Seal Beach Boulevard, south of Pacific Coast Highway.

“Do not go to the Main Gate or to the gate on Westminster Boulevard.”
