Cab driver pleads ‘no contest’ to second-degree burglary

Orlando Bruce Bosley

An Orange County cab driver pled no contest to one count of felony second-degree burglary Thursday, Feb. 27, 2013. The District Attorney’s Office dropped rape and related charges against the man who was accused of raping a woman in Leisure World in 2010.

Farrah Emami, spokesperson for the DA’s Office, said Orlando Bruce Bosley received three years formal probation and a 10-year protection order that bars him from contacting the woman who was reportedly raped.

Emami said that the DA’s Office continues investigating cases after charges are filed. In this case, DA’s personnel felt there was insufficient evidence to prove the rape charge beyond a reasonable doubt and dismissed the charges.

According to the Orange County Superior Court website, Bosley was also sentenced to 13 days in jail on the burglary conviction.

On July 6 or July 7, 2010, a 46-year-old woman took a cab from Sunset Beach to an apartment in Seal Beach’s Leisure World. According to the Seal Beach Police Department, she awoke the next morning with no recollection of the previous night.

On Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, Seal Beach officers arrested Orange County cab driver Bosley, who was then 57.

Bosley was charged with one count of rape by duress or menace, one count of rape by use of drugs and one count of rape of an unconscious person. All of those charges have been dismissed

Bosley was released on $100,000 bail on Dec. 2, 2010.

The charges were dropped on Feb. 27, 2013.
