The Second Annual “Band on the Sand” will be held in Seal Beach at 4 pm on Friday, July 3, in the First Street Parking Lot, directly in front of the sand. Bring your beach chairs and blankets.
The entertainment will begin with a stand-up comedy routine by Seal Beach Police Sgt. Ron La Velle. The sergeant is no stranger to comedy.
He performed in the first Seal Beach Police Foundation “Comedy Stop” in March.
The music will start at about 6:30 pm; the King Salmon Band will headline the party.
There will be fireworks at dusk.
Last year the Miss Seal Beach organization hosted a community event called “Band on the Sand,” essentially a pre-Independence Day party.
The inaugural family-oriented affair showcased preferred seating, live music, dancing, a hula hoop contest, opportunity drawings for bicycles, and several popular food trucks. According to event organizers, the first “Band on the Sand” drew more than 3,000 attendees.
Proceeds from Band on the Sand table and opportunity sales support the Miss Seal Beach Organization in joining a plethora of Seal Beach community projects and events. The platform chosen for the Miss Seal Beach Pageant Program is “No Bullies.”
