Library Friends group installs new board

The Friends of the Mary Wilson Library sponsor many programs at the library including several free programs for children and adults.

The Storytimes programs are a favorite with the children of Seal Beach and have been increased to two days a week, Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m.  Children also enjoy the Legos and Duplos program on the first Thursday of every month from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Teen Advisory Board members facilitate this event for the kids, earning service hours while having fun and making friends.

Attendance at the Adult Book Club has grown each month, and everyone is welcome to join this popular group which meets on the fourth Thursday at 9 a.m.  The book selection for this month is “Outliers:  The Story of Success” by Malcolm Gladwell.  Stop by the Library Information Desk to check out your copy.

Be sure to visit the Friends Book Shop at the library.  A large selection is available, including popular mysteries, fiction and non-fiction, classic literature, and children’s books.

Prices range from 50 cents to $4. And while you are there, pick up an application to join the Friends of the Library, or call Vonnie Schulten at (562) 431-2020.
