A 93-year-old Leisure World woman died at 5:15 p.m., Thursday, March 14, as a result of injuries she sufferd in a Tuesday, March 12 traffic accident in Leisure World, according to Seal Beach Police Sgt. Ron Lavelle.
Lavelle said no charges had been filed yet and the investigation was continuing.
The victim suffered serious injuries Tuesday morning, March 12, when a golf cart struck her as she crossed a street riding a mobility scooter. She was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.  The accident occurred on St. Andrews Drive, north of Tam O’Shanter Road in Leisure World. No one involved was using alcohol, according to police.
The driver of the golf cart was not cited.
According to the firs police statement about the accident, the preliminary investigation indicated that the golf cart driver did not yield to the victim, who was crossing the intersection in the crosswalk.
Golf carts have become increasingly popular in Leisure World in recent years.
