Comedy has been alive and well for more than 20 years in Long Beach thanks to the Found Theatre.
The theatre group’s latest is “A musical with heart … and other organs.”
In “Donner Party: The Musical!” great American tragedy meets good old American musical comedy … and the result is indigestible.
The setting is Brea’s finest dinner theatre, where the roast beef is really rubber, the talent defies description … and bad taste never takes a backseat! Scripted by Cynthia Galles with music by Drayfus Grayson and directed by Lauren Nave, the show features succulent performances by Found Theatre regulars and guest artists in a virtual smorgasbord of meaty roles.
Audiences are guaranteed to go away humming catchy tunes like “You’re Looking Good to Me.” Performances are Friday and Saturday, through July 6 at 8:30 p.m.
In addition, Sunday matinees will play on June 23 and 30 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. For information or reservations: (562) 433-3363 or foundtheatre.org. The Found Theatre is located at 599 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802.
