The Seal Beach City Council voted unanimously to approve an “urgency ordinance” that bans electronic cigarette shops for 45 days. However, because of the City Council’s meeting schedule, the hearing to determine if the ban should be extended any further will take place on Sept. 23.
The council voted 4-0 in favor of the ordinance, which Director of Community Development Jim Basham said was necessary in order to give staff time to research the issues.
