St. Isidore Historical Plaza is gearing up for another Fiesta on Sept. 14 and 15. The gala event will feature dancers, prizes, foods, music, something for the children. Proceeds will help preserve the Plaza at 10961 Reagan Street in Los Alamitos.
Entertainment will include Aztec Dancers from noon to 2 p.m. Mariachi Alma de Mexico Band who blend passion and traditional folkloric music with youthful energy and excitement will play from 2 to 4 p.m. One of the Plaza’s favorite band contributors, Café Caribe, will also be there from 4 to 6 p.m.; and a new band at the Plaza, called the Bumptown Band, which has punchy dance tunes and versatile song arrangements, will play from 6 to 10 p.m. delivering a live music experience for all. Sunday’s entertainment will have the DeNada Band from noon to 4 p.m., which band plays pop, rock or country music and is known to satisfy even the pickiest of crowds. Eddie Banuelos and his Big Band Music will play from 4 to 8 p.m. The Plaza will have all of these bands playing continually throughout the two-day affair. Food will be in abundance with games, prizes, and dancing for everyone. The Isidorians, a sub-group to the Plaza, will be providing the food such as Tamales, Taquitos, Flautas, Chili Verde, Barbacoa, Enchiladas, Tostadas, Nachos, Quesadilla and Huaraches plus hosting numerous ice vendors and hot dogs.
To add to the festivities the Fiesta will have opportunity drawings from some of the local businesses with the opportunity to bid and win such items as you have been searching for. There will be a wine garden, beer and margaritas.
