With the Christmas Parade finished, it is time to start gearing up for the next major Seal Beach event on April 5th, 2014 – the 40th Annual Run Seal Beach event. Once more, it was a tough decision for the Run Seal Beach race committee, as there were 19 entries and only three could be selected as winners for the 1K Kids Fun Run t-shirt design contest.
This year, Gage Bassett, a McGaugh Elementary School second grader won the contest along with a bike from Main Street Cyclery.
Bassets design will be featured on the next kid’s Fun Run shirt.
Michele Samuelson, chair of the Kids Fun Run said, “this year, we really had many pieces which could have come in first. It was hard to pick the best one, but in the end, Gage’s design won out!”
The organizing committee continues to develop special aspects for the 40th race day. For more information, please visit www.runsealbeach.com. The Kids Fun Run is part of the Run Seal Beach event, which has raised more than $1 million for recreation programs and facilities as well as other charity purposes in the Seal Beach and Los Alamitos Unified School District region.
