Property for Destruction—9:30 a.m.—Pelham Road, Mutual Unknown—The caller had an air pistol that looked real and so the caller wanted it destroyed. Report taken.

Welfare Check—9:58 a.m.—13th Street—The caller reported hearing a child screaming for the past couple of hours at an unknown location. The caller thought it sounded like the screaming was coming from a location south of the caller, who was working in a garage at the time. Police were unable to locate the source of the reported screaming.
Municipal Code Complaint—10:21 a.m.—Bayside Drive—The caller said a man got out of a car and urinated on the caller’s car. There was a second person in the suspect’s car. The individual who urinated was now in the driver’s seat of that car. Some details, including the suspect’s name, were blacked out in the log. Police interviewed him in the field.
Municipal Code Complaint—12 noon—Ocean Avenue—A church group was selling ice cream. The caller asked the group if they had a permit. When they couldn’t produce one and verbally fought with him, the caller asked them to move a bit down Ocean Avenue to avoid conflict. Police arrested Douglas Amira on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substances formerly classified as a restricted dangerous drug. Police also arrested Natividad Verdugo on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substances formerly classified as a restricted dangerous drug.
Arrest—3:59 p.m.—Pacific Coast Highway—The caller reported that a swerving car almost hit the caller’s car. The caller followed the suspect’s car. By 4:01 p.m., the suspect’s car had passed Bolsa and was still swerving in the middle lane. By 4:02 p.m., the car had passed Apollo. By 4:03 p.m., the car had passed Westminster. By 4:04 p.m., the caller told dispatch that responding officers were approaching the correct car. The driver apparently pulled over at that time. Disturbance—4:24 p.m.—Pacific Coast Highway—The caller said a man on a bicycle was in the drive thru lane at the location and appeared to the caller to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He verbally fought with the caller and peddled off in an unknown direction. The caller didn’t see any weapons. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the man on the bike.

The caller advised that she had received a call from the woman that she had fallen and needed help. By 1:50 a.m., police had contacted the woman in question. Although she had fallen, the woman declined medical treatment. She was given a cell phone to keep close to her. No further police services were required.
Peddler—12:45 p.m.—Southshore Drive—The caller gave money to a woman who said she was collecting for a veterans fund. But now he wanted the money back. The amount of the money he gave her was blacked out in the log, as were a few other details. He said she had shown the caller checks that other people had given her. The caller did not believe she had a permit. Another caller reported two men collecting money for veterans. The second caller gave police the names that the two men had given him. Police contacted the first caller and counseled him about giving money to solicitors. Police were unable to locate the solicitors.

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—8:15 a.m.—Island View and Bolsa—The caller said a man on a bicycle appeared to be looking into cars. A few details were blacked out in the log. He stopped to speak with a second man. Police unit 107 determined the man on the bike was a resident of Island View. No further law enforcement services were required.
Municipal Code Complaint—9:07 p.m.—Marina Drive and First Street—The caller said an unspecified number of individuals were living in an RV. Their dogs were barking and keeping residents up. Theft From a Car—10:20 a.m.—Crestview Avenue—The caller said sometime during the night, someone took a few hundred dollars from the caller’s car. A few details were blacked out in the log. Report taken.

Petty Theft—2:44 p.m.—Main Street—The caller said a man took pictures from the business. He apparently fled on a bicycle. The caller was a customer who chased the man. The caller got the suspect’s cell phone. By 2:46 p.m., the caller said another individual tackled the man, which might have caused damage to a parked truck. The lost property had been recovered. Police contacted the caller. Another unit contacted the registered owner of the car. A third police unit was en route to pick up the suspect’s bicycle. Police collected the suspect’s bike, phone and sunglasses from the scene.

Disturbance—1:52 p.m.—Lilly Avenue—The caller said someone threw a rock into the caller’s backyard while a baby shower was taking place there. Two people who possibly could’ve been involved were seen near the area, according to the caller. Police were unable to locate the perpetrators.

Suspicious Person—7:08 p.m.—Los Alamitos Boulevard—The caller said a young man came into the restaurant and attempted to touch a waitress and customer. The caller said he looked intoxicated. Police arrested Brandon Issac Swearingen, 22, on suspicion of public intoxication.

Robbery—12:18 p.m.—Sausalito Street—The caller reported $450 was stolen from a business by a man wearing a facemask and a straw hat. The caller said the man stole the cash drawer before leaving the business. From the police log, the suspect was not found. No further details given.
