Nature Walks in our Los Cerritos Wetlands
Come walk with us on the El Dorado Audubon Fun Walks at the Los Cerritos Wetlands and Gum Grove Park Wetlands (third Saturday of every month). You will be enamored by the birds, butterflies and wild Flowers on display.
Check out the wildlife of this park and the Orange County side of the Los Cerritos Wetlands. Meet in the parking lot at Avalon Dr. near Catalina and Avalon. We will be looking for butterflies like the Painted Ladies recently spotted in OC according to Friends of El Dorado Nature Center. We will be looking for hawks, egrets, herons, songbirds, swallows. Our yards are full of colorful migrating song birds, let’s see what we can see and enjoy this open space. We start at 8 a.m. and you can fit the walk to the time you have available on a busy Saturday morning!
We always have a good time. Binoculars are helpful; water and closed-toed shoes are good. This is an easy walk on gravel road inside the park. For more information contact Mary Parsell at mfp2001@hotmail.com.
If you do not have a land line, this is important
Program 562-594-7232 into your phone. Now that so many no longer have land line phones, it is very important to know that if you dial 911 from your cell phone you most likely will not be connected to our local Dispatch Center causing delays in service. In case of emergency, use a land line and dial 911, if possible. If it is not possible to use a land line, then you may call the Dispatch Center directly from your cell phone: 562-594-7232. Please program this number into yourn cell phone for Seal Beach emergencies.
