The benches on the beach along Seal Way will remain in place for now.
Recently, residents living on Seal Way received a notice from the city to remove their benches and volleyball nets from the public beach. They were given seven days.
However, residents asked the CIty Council on Monday, May 13, to place the matter on a future council agenda.
Councilwoman Deaton made the same request and asked staff to put enforcement plans on hold.
City Attorney Quinn Barrow said the mayor could direct staff to wait.
Mayor Gary Miller said he favored maintaining the status quo.
