Seal Beach will continue trapping coyotes for the next three weeks, City Manager Jill Ingram said at the Monday night, Oct. 13, City Council meeting.
A motion by Councilman Michael Levitt to temporarily suspend the trapping program failed for lack of a second. Levitt, a reluctant supporter of trapping in the first place, objected to the use of carbon-dioxide gas to kill coyotes. However, Levitt made it clear he would support resuming the trapping if pets continued to be killed.
