The Cypress FC- Blue Girls U10 team won the prestigious Huntington Beach Soccer Tournament for the second year in a row recently. The tournament has over 355 teams and 42 fields and the U10 girls division is filled with highly competitive teams. It is played in a 7-on-7 format and played in the sand. It is one of the most enjoyable tournaments to play in, bit is quite physically demanding and exhausting. “Winning for the second year in a row was very exciting and rewarding because teams get better and tougher as they grow older and that made it particularly special,” said head coach Mike Flores. Cypress was top seed in pool play with scores of 3-3 tie against South LA Strikers, 7-1 win against Force, 3-1 win against Drama Llamas and the Championship game was against Crush, which Cypress crushed 5-1. The soccer team is comprised of players from Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Cypress and surrounding cities, and they practice in the City of Los Alamitos.
