The Los Alamitos Unified School District Board of Education recently named Patricia Meyer as the district’s deputy superintendent following her tenure as the district’s assistant superintendent of Business Services.
Meyer has been with the district since 2004, playing a pivotal role keeping the district financially strong, according to an unsigned press release issued by the school district.
Meyer has been an instrumental lead in both Interest-Based Bargaining and the Measure K Facilities Improvement Program.
With her guidance and leadership, modernization projects at multiple school sites have been on time and on budget.
As deputy superintendent, Meyer will continue to lead Business Services as well as the expanding modernization projects throughout the district. Prior to joining Los Alamitos Unified School District, Meyer was with the Los Angeles County Office of Education for over 17 years, where she last served as the director of operations.
In this position, she directed business services for the largest regional educational agency in the United States with a department annual budget of over $210 million, providing support to 22,000 students and over 100 external educational agency clients.
“I am extremely fortunate to continue to work for such an exceptional district, where excellence truly never rests,” said Patti Meyer.
Superintendent Sherry L. Kropp said the district was fortunate to have Meyer. “I look forward to working closely with Patti to advance the vision and goals of the district and to continue to provide the best programs possible for students,” Kropp said.
Patti Meyer and her husband Steve are long-standing supporters of the district, as they have one son who recently graduated from Los Alamitos High School and one who is currently enrolled at the high school.
