Hi Seal Beach,
We’re back this week to discuss an important topic that, although unpleasant to think about, is important to consider.
Across the country, we’ve seen horrific incidents of gun violence perpetrated against innocent people. While we all hope never to find ourselves in this situation, it is important to have a plan and know what to do in the very rare chance that you are caught in a violent situation.
The Seal Beach Police Department, in partnership with the McGaugh PTA, is hosting a Surviving Gun Violence presentation at the McGaugh Auditorium on Thursday, February 8, from 6 to 8 pm.
Why does this matter?
Knowledge is Power: Learn vital “Run, Hide, Fight” strategies to significantly increase your chances of survival in a gun violence situation.
Community Strength: Enhancing individual safety contributes to our collective security. An informed community is a resilient one.
Expert Guidance: Gain insights from law enforcement and emergency response experts and understand the practical steps you can take in an emergency.
Get to Know your Police Department: This event is a platform for dialogue with the SBPD, reinforcing our united front against violence.
Meet Yosa: Police Facility Dog Yosa will be there to give love and support.
This presentation is about more than just survival tactics; it’s a proactive step towards a safer future for our community. Join us on February 8th at McGaugh Elementary to stand together for safety and resilience. Your participation is crucial in our collective journey towards a more secure community.
