The Mary Lou Heard Memorial garden tour is a yearly, self-guided charity event that celebrates local home gardeners’ hard work and vision “Real Gardens by Real People”!
Mary Lou Heard was a passionate horticulturalist and local nursery owner in southern California who created the garden tour in 1994. Every year brings more fans to be inspired by and experience this self-guided tour; and view gardens that have been transformed from an overgrown patch of weeds into Mediterranean & summer dry paradises, whimsical fairy gardens, butterfly/wildlife sanctuaries, cottage style, eclectic, edible, outdoor living, and tropical gardens.
