Wednesday, July 7
• Citizen Assist—(Priority 3)—Birchwood Avenue—11:42 a.m.—The reporting person and her son had locked themselves inside their home office. The reporting person said that there was a large falcon inside their residence trying to get out.
Long Beach Animal Care Serv ices was contacted but did not have an ETA for a response. The falcon left the house before animal control officers arrived. The homeowner cancelled the request for animal control and cleaned up the aftermath inside the residence.
• Incident Report—(Priority 3)—Seal Beach Boulevard—2:15 p.m.—Three individuals reportedly placed a skimmer (a card capturing device used to obtain debit/credit card information) at an ATM. The individuals also reportedly set up skimmers at six other ATMs in the area.
• Hazard—(Priority 3)—Seal Way—7:25 p.m.—A down power line was blocking the street. It was unknown what kind of wire it was. Officers stated that it could have been a utility line and might be connected to someone’s house.
• Grand Theft Report—(Priority 3)—Seal Beach Boulevard—10:27 p.m.—The reporting person lost his iPhone 12 pro, valued at an undisclosed amount. The phone was left at the last known location earlier in the day. When tracked, the phones’ location was shown in Monterey Park.
Thursday, July 8
• Suspicious Person—(Priority 2)—Crestview Avenue—3:37 a.m.—The reporting person stated that a neighboring garage door was open. A garage truck was back up into the garage. The reporting person wasn’t sure if the vehicle was occupied or not. She said she saw a male loading things into the back of the pickup truck.
After an official search of the area, it was concluded that the person loading things out of the garage was the resident of the home.
• Municipal Code Violation—(Priority 3)—Main Street—4:24 a.m.—City employees were reportedly heard and seen using a leaf blower on Main Street. The reporting person requested they be ticketed.
• Suspicious Person—(Priority 2)—Main Street—10:10 a.m.—A Silver Camry with Texas plates driven by an individual wearing body armor and a bathing suit was reportedly in a parking spot late Sunday night.
The individual also had a shovel and a military backpack. He was last seen inside his vehicle talking to himself.
• Welfare Check—(Priority 3)—Main Street—12:25 p.m.—An individual wearing a black shirt, red jacket and black pants was seen walking in circles in the parking lot. He was also watching and staring at the reporting person.
• Trespassing—(Priority 2)—Ocean Place and First Street—5:22 p.m.—An individual with two dogs was inside the park sitting at the picnic table. (The park is not yet open to the public.)
Friday, July 9
• Fight—(Priority 2)—Main Street—3:38 p.m.—Three female individuals were seen hitting each other. No weapons were seen during this altercation near the hardware store.
• Suspicious Person—(Priority 2)—Ocean Avenue—6:41 p.m.—A female individual in her 50s wearing a blue top with floral print and navy baggy pants with a sun hat, was seen taking pictures of kids. She did not seem to be with anyone on the at the playground.
• Disturbing Music—(Priority 3)—College Park Drive—8:23 p.m.—The reporting person heard loud music coming from a nursery. They stated a loud electric guitar could be heard.
A second reporting person told officers that there were a group of kids possibly playing. Officials advised the parties and they said they would comply with the police request.
• Fireworks—(Priority 4)—Fifth Street and Ocean Avenue—9:22 p.m.—The reporting person stated they saw fireworks on the beach.
Saturday, July 10
• Disturbing Music—(Priority 3)—Seal Beach Boulevard—2:56 p.m.—The reporting person advised of a female individual playing loud music out of a speaker and asking for money.
Officers roamed the area and did not find a female individual playing music or asking for money.
• Suspicious Person—(Priority 2)—Southshore Drive—4:43 p.m.—A male individual was seen littering in the area and had been circling the area on his cellphone.
• Driving Under the Influence—(Priority 2)—Pacific Coast Highway—6:07 p.m.—A black SUV hit the center median and was swerving in and out of lanes headed northbound on PCH. The reporting person was not following and was too far behind to get any type of description of the driver.
• Fireworks—(Priority 4)—First Street and Ocean Avenue—9:46 p.m.—The reporting person advised of fireworks coming from the beach area between First and Third streets.
