Sunday, September 18 is the day that the Los Alamitos Museum is honoring Jim and Shirley Bailey.
The public is invited, especially those acquainted with the Baileys. The Baileys will be presented with proclamations from Senator Tom Harman as well as the local congressman and assemblyman.
The Baileys have lived in the Rossmoor area for the last 40 years and have been constantly involved in the Los Alamitos/Rossmoor community.
Jim has served as president of Los Alamitos Baseball for six years but more importantly has helped care for the baseball fields for over 30 years.
He also served on the board for the Youth Center as president as well as being involved in fund raisers for 13 years.
Shirley has been an active member of the Rossmoor Homeowner’s Association for 30 years.
She strongly supported the acquisition of land for Rush and Rossmoor parks, an action that has been important to the youth of these communities.
Shirley has also been a member of the Rossmoor Woman’s Club since 1988 serving as its president as well as in many other capacities.
“These two people are treasures to our community and we applaud them,” said a prepared statement from the museum staff. “Join the Museum in extended heartfelt thanks for their contributions.”
Refreshments will be served.
The Museum is located at 11062 Los Alamitos Boulevard, Los Alamitos.
