The King and Queen of Hearts candidates have already raised more than $50,000 for the Los Alamitos Education Foundation and there is still more time and there are events to come. The King and Queen candidates who raise the most funds will be crowned at the Royal Ball and Coronation gala on Friday, Feb. 19 at the Grand Event Center in Long Beach.
Many very successful events have already taken place and LAEF is very grateful for all the businesses that have been supporting the candidates. Multiple dining events took place at Thai on Main, Glory Days, Hennessey’s, The Abbey, O’Malley’s and Avila’s El Ranchito to support Adriana Preciado-Ziegenbusch. Shopping at Duke & Duchess and a workout at CrossFit Beach Fitness supported Diana Hill. Shopping at Green Street Interiors and dining at Brew Kitchen Ale House supported Dr. Sean Braithwaite. An NFL playoffs party, featuring the Southland Credit Union money booth, and a five-course wine paired dinner at Griffins Grill both benefited Matt Herrick.
LAEF is very grateful to all the candidates for their time, effort and dedication! Funds raised through the King & Queen of Hearts campaign support STEAM education, fairs and the district-wide showcase. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, the arts and math. The Queen candidates are Los Al alumna Gina Biri, School Board member Diana Hill, Seal Beach Lion of the Year Adriana Preciado-Ziegenbusch and Rossmoor Elementary Principal Kiva Spiratos.
The King candidates are Dr. Sean Braithwaite of Braithwaite Chiropractic, Matt Herrick of Southland Credit Union and Griffins Grill and Aaron Roberts of Anytime Fitness. Each of them has an individual fundraising link on the website LAEF4Kids.org.LAEF is the non-profit partner of Los Alamitos Unified School District.
