Los Al Jazz students recently enjoyed a master class with trumpeter Kenny Rampton. Rampton is a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Mingus Big Band, and a leader of his own group. In addition to his many Broadway credits (The Wiz, Chicago, The Producers), he has toured with the Ray Charles Orchestra and performed at festivals here and abroad. The outstanding Los Al Jazz program is directed by Justin Padilla, along with instrument-specific coaches who work with students year-round and professional musicians who drop by throughout the season to conduct special workshops and share their industry knowledge.
