Children from Grace Community Church gathered Sunday to release the butterflies that many of them had nurtured from caterpillars, according to spokesperson Lois Sherwin. She said as the butterflies flew away, the children enjoyed pizza, popcorn and nectar (lemonade). They also had fun decorating a butterfly shaped cookie baked by Grace Church member Rich Denos. In the spirit of the exercise, the children quoted 2 Cor. 5:17 : “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come! The old is gone the new is here!” With that, they released their butterflies. Some flew away and some landed on the children delighting them with an up-close look at their beauty.
