Personal Touch seeks Haiti donations

The recent devastation in Haiti prompted Jenny Scroggins owner of Personal Touch to focus her efforts on those left helpless in the aftermath of the earthquake.

Personal Touch owner Jenny Scroggins a Seal Beach resident for over five years, developed her personal assistant business The Personal Touch in 2009.

“I got the idea to start my business while volunteering in Leisure World. Several of the residents began asking me for help with their daily errands and I realized that there was a tremendous need for this type of personal assistance, not only in Leisure World but throughout Orange County”

The recent devastation in Haiti prompted her to focus her efforts on those left helpless in the aftermath of the earthquake.

Collaborating with local business owners, donation boxes have been placed at venues in Seal Beach and those that can are asked to help. All funds raised will be donated directly to the American Red Cross.

Donations will supply relief for some of the  hundreds of thousands of people and nearly one million orphaned children.

Assistance provided by the American Red Cross includes deploying emergency personnel, sending relief supplies, and providing vital financial resources.

The White House emphasizes,

“Cash Donations are the most efficient and effective way to help right now. They allow humanitarian organizations to purchase the exact type and quantity of items needed by those affected by the crisis.”

Scroggins’ goal is to make it simple for others to help donate by placing donation boxes at local businesses through out Old Town Seal Beach.

“I feel I have to give back and am blessed to live in a place like Seal Beach where the sense of community and outreach is so strong” said Scroggins.

Look for the donation boxes located at   The Abbey, Finbars, Thai on Main, The Wine Bar,  The Picture Gallery, Trucker Mouth, Seal Beach Chiropractic, Yucatan Grill and Marina Liquor Mart until the end of February.
