Crime Log: Seal Beach DUI checkpoint set for March 13

The Seal Beach Police Department will conduct a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint from 8 p.m., Saturday, March 13 to 3 a.m., Sunday, March 14, on Pacific Coast Highway between Anderson and Seal Beach Boulevard.

This is the third time this year that the SBPD has conducted a checkpoint.

DUI checkpoints are conducted to identify offenders and get them off the street, as well as educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving.

Traffic volume and weather permitting, all vehicles may be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested.

Law enforcement agencies are encouraging the public to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.

Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
