The year 2010 continues to be a great year for Los Alamitos High School Junior, Sydney Czaus. After receiving just about every school and Sunset League award at last week’s Dive Awards Banquet, Czaus was notified that she has achieved a National distinction.
She is one of 11 girls and five boys from Southern California to earn the title of All American Diving High School Athlete for 2010. The award is based on video taped submission of regular high school meets. Even though Czaus had a great year, submissions are judged individually against all entries from throughout the United States. The committee then chooses the top 130 divers to receive this honor.
Czaus finishes 11th grade this week followed by the first major competition of the summer dive season. Czaus will join fellow Los Al High diver, Adam Payne and his sister Dolly, at the Region 9 Championships this weekend at UCLA. This is the first step toward the USA Diving National Championships in Tucson, Arizona in July.
Czaus is likely to meet up with fellow All-American winners at this most prestigious competition of the year. All Los Al Dive Team members are pulling for their teammates to dive well.
