Letter: Fire city manager

Given that the Seal Beach city manager has admitted his long friendship with the architect he awarded a no bid contract to, I suggest the City Council needs to terminate the city manager.

The city manager’s comment that bids were not required is not the issue.  He awarded a contract to a friend.

That action does not even rem otely pass the “smell test.”  I am continually amazed what public officials will do with the public’s money.  Were there no other architects available for this work?  What other contracts have been awarded to friends of the city ,anager?

Had I done this when I worked for the city of Los Angeles, the ,ayor and City Council would have terminated me.
