Imagine being new in town. Upon arriving at your first chamber meeting you step up to an Irish pub. You’ll be greeted and welcomed into our community. You’ll feel a sense of warmth and excitement. The energy in the room will make you tingle and right then, you will know that you are home.
It’s an honor and a privilege to serve as elected President of the chamber. I bring a different style of leadership and perspective to the table. We will continue on the vision of growing the chamber. Collectively we can achieve much more than we can individually.
We’re expanding our local relationships with neighboring cities, city council, merchants, residents and other service related organizations.
We are creating an ambassador committee which will provide on-going membership contact and engagement to help promote retention and encourage member involvement. This will give members high visibility and allow them to meet many people in the community. When people see you on a consistent basis and get to know you, a relationship is built.
These relationships quite frequently build trust and translate into doing business with you.
How about bringing back historic events such as the sand castle contest (without the use of glue as we don’t want any issues involving children getting rashes and we certainly want to be sensitive of the environment.), and beach volleyball (not huge AVP venues, but on a much smaller scale plus residents don’t have to go to other cities to play).

Imagine new lighting on Main Street – I have reached out to the city manager and Southern California Edison. We are having our first meeting this month to discuss our lighting needs, options, esthetics, costs, etc.
Based on a recent chamber survey, our members want to expand our reach within the community by helping in areas of non-profit and education.
Loving the new Web site! All those merchants not on Main Street are now on the map thanks to our new technology. We have added credit card processing and on-line sign-up for events. Advertising and sponsored e-mails are available to our members for maximum exposure.
Our 2011-2012 Visitors Guide & Community Directory is being designed. All Chamber members will be listed as part of their membership. Additional ad space for members is available at a discounted rate.
