Welcome to the 25th annual Seal Beach Car Show

A scene from a past Seal Beach Classic Car Show.

It’s ready for its unveiling! The “Silver Anniversary Trophy” to Seal Beach residents and merchants.

That trophy would be, “The 25th Annual Seal Beach Classic Car Show.” Its creation took nine months, thousands of hours and hundreds of hard working volunteers to achieve.

I set a goal of perfection as high as I could possibly achieve with the help of your host “Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce” and our great city management teams. It’s my way of expressing my gratitude for providing such an amazing place for my wife Jane and I to live and work. I don’t ever foresee leaving Seal Beach. It’s my wish to continue showing my gratitude in various ways for the rest of my life.

For 50 years, cars have not only been my vocation, but also my passion, which I try to bring to the Car Show. This will be my sixth year involved as a Director of the Chamber of Commerce and third as Car Show Chairman. The car show has always been good.

It’s my intention to make it far more than just “good.” Our town deserves only the best and that’s what I have strived to achieve. It’s good for business, not to mention that great feeling of pride in being associated with something good and wholesome for our families.

Seal Beach is a town of quality, and should be shared with others. Our car show is a fabulous tool in accomplishing that. It brings visitors from all over; some have never heard of Seal Beach. Once sampling the “Seal Beach experience,” they will want to return; they’ll bring their friends and families to share in one of the few great beach towns left along the coast of California.

I’m hoping that all will share in my humble opinion that this is the best Seal Beach Car Show ever. This is not only a car show, but an incredible event that has something for everyone, from classics with impeccable design and detail, to the iron gladiators of the Drag Strip, with their 4,000 HP nitro-burning engines slinging their drivers to speeds of over 260 MPH in the quarter mile.

So don’t miss our new “Dragster Ally.” Displayed will be world-famous legends that wrote drag racing history. “The Wing Express,” Don Garlit’s “Swamp Rat III,” Howard Com Car, and The Shirly “Cha-Cha,” Muldowney’s record-setting dragster. It was restored by Seal Beach’s own David Mardella, famous drag racer and historian of iconic cars of the past. Thanks to David’s countless hours of work and an untold amount of money we’ll be able to see and hear “Cha-cha’s” car run once again.

There will be a world-class winning Indy car present, thanks to its owner John Ewold. He encourages all to take pictures with this incredible example of race car history.

Please visit our Vendor Village at Eisenhower Park. Hungry? No fear! Most all of Seal Beach Main Street’s eateries will be open from breakfast to dinner.

Maybe you might want to sample the Lion’s Club pancake breakfast in the morning.  After checking out the cars, come back for lunch. Bite into the Lion’s famous Bratwurst sandwich or try a hot dog; goes good with a car show.

The Chamber of Commerce arranged to have six of the finest bands in the area.

Be sure to tell all from out of town to take advantage of our free parking and shuttle services provided by McKenna’s By the Bay.

Board at Alamitos Bay Landing and you will be taken to the front door of the car show. These cool old double-decker English buses run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. I only just scratched the surface of what this “Silver Trophy” has to offer to all who come. I’m very grateful to our sponsors OPGI, Big Dad Car Wash, Erik Lenahan State Farm Insurance, the rest of our Trophy sponsors, and last but not least, our great Seal Beach Police Department and the City of Seal Beach.

Brian Warner is the chairman of the Seal Beach Car Show.
