The application for a special event permit for a weekly market in the Main Street area has been withdrawn. Recreation Manager Tim Kelsey recently told the Sun, “The applicant has notified the City that they have chosen to withdraw their application.”
The application for the special event permit described the proposed event as a farmers market. Opponents described it as a street fair.
Last year, a similar proposal was submitted to the city and later withdrawn in the face of essentially identical criticism.
